Alnmouth Golf Club

Alnmouth Golf Club overlooks the splendors of both Foxton and Alnmouth Bay. It is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the North East of England. Alnmouth Golf Club (the fourth oldest golf club in England) was formed in 1869, with a nine-hole course on the links at Alnmouth Village. The famous golf course architect H. S. Colt (the designer of Wentworth, Sunningdale and Pine Valley) was commissioned to create the present course for the Duke of Northumberland in 1930. Although the course has a coastal location it has parkland turf and a reputation for the fine quality of the greens.
