Beedles Lake Golf Centre
Situated at the heart of the Wreake Valley in Leicestershire, Beedles Lake Golf Centre is maturing into one of the region’s top venues.
The club boasts a driving range with power tee bays and a putting and chipping area, as well as first-class bar and catering facilities.
But despite these features, the main attraction at Beedles Lake is the 6,641-yard, par-72 course. The layout was opened in 1993 when local course architect David Tucker had the idea of building a golf course on the site.
Tucker’s modern design techniques and excellent knowledge of drainage helped to craft a course where temporary greens are never required, even in the depths of winter.
The course features several challenging holes, although the par-four seventh is generally considered to be the toughest on the course.

To make matters trickier, the green is protected by a strategically-placed bunker. The back nine is home to most of the spectacular holes on the layout, including the signature 18th. The 416-yard par-four features fairway bunkers and trees running up both sides of the fairway. Be careful to keep your tee shot going left, as bunkers and trees guard the approach from the right-hand side. Golf aside, the venue is one of the top fishing centres in the area. Beedles Lake boasts an average depth of six feet and offers bankside parking. Given the picturesque setting, it is hardly surprising that the centre is a popular venue for weddings. The club’s private function room can seat up to 160 people, while the lake and grounds make for some spectacular photographs. Beedles Lake is conveniently located close to the A46.
