Botley Park Golf Club, Hampshire

Located just outside Southampton in the rolling Hampshire countryside is Macdonald Botley Park, a hotel complex of the highest calibre, which features an outstanding par-70 course. The course meanders through 176 acres of idyllic parkland and water features, balancing testing holes with the more playable to create a demanding but manageable challenge. It was subjected to a complete redesign in 1995. Water comes into play at various points throughout the course with the 9th, 11th and 18th holes being particularly notable. The opening hole is a par-4 of considerable distance, measuring 461 yards. Two shorter par-4s then follow before the first and longest par-5 comes at the fourth. The closing stretch is also excellent, with the signature 18th following a risk-reward par-5 at 17.
