Bristol & Clifton Golf Club

Bristol & Clifton is home to a beautiful, mature parkland course which is always immaculately maintained to the very highest standards. It provides an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities and is a super destination for societies. Established in 1891, B&C's rich history tells a story of continuous improvement, ensuring that all aspects of the club exceed the expectations of the modern golfer. They provide a welcoming family-friendly atmosphere and the quality of their facilities are without equal in the region. They are conveniently situated just four miles from both junction 19 of the M5, four miles from Bristol and just a short drive from Brunel’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. But the club's main attraction is of course its undulating parkland course, which measures 6,413 yards with a par of 70.

This varied and beguiling test is regularly selected as a host to both English Golf Union and English Women's Golf Association events and it therefore has a reputation as the finest in the region. In the summer, the course plays firm and fast, with lightning quick greens that frequently give a stimpmeter reading of over 11. In winter, or very wet conditions, the course is free draining; meaning that they rarely, if ever, close and winter tees and greens are seldom needed. In recent years, the club has invested significantly in course improvements, machinery and state of the art irrigation. Their head greenkeeper and his team ensure that the course is always in immaculate condition. Gary Wolstenholme, Great Britain & Ireland's leading points scorer in the history of the Walker Cup, is effusive in his praise of this fine club and its course.
