Holes 1 and 10 A par 4 uphill dogleg from left to right with a fairway bunker neatly placed to stop tee shots cutting the corner. A good drive towards the guide post will leave a straightforward shot to the green. Holes 2 and 11 A tricky downhill par 3 with only the top half of the flagstick visable from the tee. With bunkers on both sides of the green a good straight tee shot is required. Holes 3 and 12 A tempting, driveable, par 4, that runs sharply from left to right as you approach the green. Tree lined down both sides of the fairway only a good tee shot down the left side of the hole will open up green. Holes 4 and 13 Play towards the guide post from the tee to leave a downhill second shot to a small green with bunkers on both sides. Treelined all the way a drive in the fairway is more important than the distance on this hole. Holes 5 and 14 This hole is one of the most difficult par fours in Cornwall (a par 5 for the ladies). With a small gap between the treelined fairway to hit your teeshot. The hole starts to turn to the right at approximately 300 yards from the tee where there is a large tree in the middle of the fairway. With a very narrow green, as the target at the end of this hole, a par 4 is a great score. Holes 6 and 15 The most difficult par 3 on the course. With a three tiered green that slopes downhill from front to back, bunkers on both sides and over-hanging tree branches cover the front right-hand side of the green. Finding the target from the tee makes this a difficult tee shot. Holes 7 and 16 Played from the Gent's 16th competition tee this hole measures 572 yards. With a difficult tee shot and out of bounds on both sides almost all the way to the green. At the second guide post the hole drops downhill and turns sharply to the right. This leaves 140 yards to a green that runs down hill away from you. With bunkers on both sides of the green and out of bounds just a few yards to the left of the hole. Holes 8 and 17 With glimpses of the river through the trees this is a short par 4 that doglegs right to left from the tee. A sloping fairway leaves an interesting approach to a small green with a bunker and steep bank to the right hand side. Holes 9 and 18 A nice par 3 to finish off your round. With trees, bunkers and Rhododendrons guarding the out of bounds to the right and behind the green. An elevated tee leaves you looking down onto a small two tiered sloping green. If your tee shot is too long it will be out of bounds. Too short finds a steep valley. So, get this one correct to finish your round in style!   Facebook: www.facebook.com/BudockVeanHotel Twitter: @BudockVeanHotel Instagram: @BudockVeanHotel
