Chevin Golf Club
Situated six miles north of Derby at the foot of the Chevin Hills, Chevin offers a mixture of parkland and moorland as well as attractive countryside views.
While not the longest at just 6,083 yards, the layout boasts a stern par of 69 as well as a range of undulating holes and blind shots.
This becomes apparent as early as the third hole. Featuring a sloping fairway as well as an uphill approach, the 427-yard “Hill” hole could leave an early dent in your card.
The front nine also boasts the top hole on the course - the signature eighth. Known ominously as “Tribulation”, the 381-yard par-four features a narrow fairway and out of bounds left and right, extending all the way up to the green.

The 444-yard par-four requires an accurate tee shot to miss the bunkers that guard the fairway on both sides. The green is also heavily-protected, justifying the stroke index of one. A round on the course can be had for just £20 if playing as a member's guest, while during winter, 18 holes can be had for £30, even if not playing with a member. Away from the course, the club boasts excellent dining facilities and serves a range of home cooked meals. Larger groups can also book the dining room, for private dining or prize-giving sessions.
