Chiltern Forest Golf Club

Chiltern Forest offers a wonderful and unique 18-hole golf course which challenges and tests golfers of all abilities. Golf has been played at Chiltern Forest for over 100 years, originally on land owned by Alfred de Rothschild.  This land was acquired by the war office as part of a training camp for the newly formed Royal Air Force shortly after the First World War. During the Second World War, golf legend Henry Cotton was stationed here adding three further holes. Fifty years on, adjacent land was purchased and this members-owned club opened as an outstanding 18 hole golf course. The challenge here is accurate tee shots and a good short game to score well. Built on chalk, the course drains exceptionally well, allowing play all year round. The course and club house continue to receive investment.  The bar and lounge was recently refurbished and the result is a bright welcoming bar and dining area with spectacular views across the Vale. The golf course has had an irrigation system upgrade which has allowed us to irrigate the approaches to the greens and has improved the quality of the greens and surrounds.
