Cosby Golf Club
Founded in 1895, Cosby Golf Club is situated at the heart of the Midlands and is known as one of the finest courses in Leicestershire.
The club has been awarded the prestigious Golfmark award for its work with junior players, while club pro Anders Mankert has been recognised as one of the UK's top 40 teaching pros by Today's Golfer magazine.
Despite these accolades, the jewel in the crown at Cosby is the 6,438-yard, par-71 championship course.
Featuring tree-lined fairways and plenty of strategically-placed bunkers, the course also boasts superbly maintained greens renowned for subtle borrows and consistency of roll.
The course starts with a short par-four which neatly sums up the challenges that lie ahead.

The toughest hole on the layout is the par-four 12th. Known ominously as “Bogey”, the 441-yard hole has a stroke index of one and has the power to wreck any card. A strong left-to-right prevailing wind sees the out of bounds down the right regularly come into play, especially for slicers, while even a decent tee shot still leaves a difficult approach to the sloping, well-guarded putting surface. Most golfers will happily take a bogey five here and a par is a real bonus. The club also boasts a ten-bay covered driving range and short game facilities. Golf aside, the club is a popular venue for private parties and boasts a 150-capacity function room perfect for weddings and corporate days. Cosby Golf Club is conveniently located close to Junction 21 of the M1/M69.
