Darenth Valley Golf Club

Darenth Valley offers a beautiful par-72 parkland course, set in the picturesque garden of England. The club was founded in 1973 by Michael Cross and has remained a family run business since then. Darenth Valley’s gently undulating layout is blended into in an Area of Outstanding National Beauty and as a result, you are met by a wonderful view around most corners. It is also set upon a chalk base, which means that the course is playable during heavy rain and is open nearly all year round. On the course, the two key characteristics are forgiving fairways and tiny greens, so the layout suits both the wild hitter and the pin seeker. Your round starts with a straightforward couple of opening holes, before crossing into the valley where the test becomes somewhat longer and more challenging.

The 460-yard stroke index one 4th is the first real test of the day, in part of what is the more difficult on the two nines.  The par-4 9th offers you a ‘goalpost’ type target from the tee, to aim over or through, before the easier back nine begins.  Overall, Darenth Valley offers a good balance of holes – five par 5s, five par 3s and 10 par 4s – meaning you can test your game from top to bottom during your round. Your chance to put this practice to fruition comes with three reachable par-5s on the back nine, including back-to-back birdie chances on the 15th and 16th.
