Darwen Golf Club

Formed in 1893 as a result of the local vicar encountering three men hitting a ball around with a stick on local landmark, Winter Hill, Darwen golf club has grown steadily in size and reputation over the last century. Built on undulating moorland, it is a challenging, if somewhat short, eighteen hole course that measures in the region 5800 yards, and has a standard scratch score of 68. A large practice area is also available for fine-tuning and visitors are welcome all through the week, with the exception of Saturday, which is members only, and Tuesday which is Ladies\' Day.
