Antalya GC Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

The PGA Sultan - A Tour-Level Golf Course

The PGA Sultan is the championship level golf course situated at Antalya GC, measuring at more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. The course is a true yardstick of a golfer’s ability, and will separate the elite from the amateur in just a few short holes.

Designed by European Golf Design and David Jones, no stone was left unturned when making the PGA Sultan, with the course blending seamlessly into the environment that surrounds it. The course plays fast and firm throughout all 12 months of the year, making it a worthwhile trip in both the summer and winter.

The golf course hosted the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final in 2012, an invitation event which saw Tiger Woods, Charl Schwartzel, Lee Westwood, Rory Mcllroy, Hunter Mahan, Matt Kuchar, Justin Rose and Webb Simpson tee it up. England’s Rose won the title at Antalya GC, and it was an event that brought the world’s attention to the venue. The course has also hosted the Eisenhower Trophy.

The Pasha Course

The second course at Antalya GC is the Pasha Course, and it is a course that most places in Europe would happily take as their frontline golfing venue.

Slightly shorter and somewhat easier than the PGA Sultan, the Pasha provides a fun challenge for golfers of all abilities. Tricky dog-legs, cleverly placed bunkers and undulating greens will ensure that the more experienced golfer must think over each shot carefully.

10 water hazards and 65 bunkers lie in wait for errant shots on the Pasha, while the Bermuda grass can cause havoc to the golfer who is not used to playing on this type of turf. The Pasha is a fun course, but it can still make your scorecard look a mess come the end of 18 holes if you’re not careful.

AGC Academy

Antalya Golf Club has two incredible 18-hole championship courses, and it is also the host to the AGC Academy. Head Pro Ramazan Duman has been a fully qualified member of the Turkish PGA since 2007, and he passes down his knowledge and expertise to help improve the game of thousands of golfers a year.

Thanks to the multicultural nature of the Turkish resort, lessons are given in a number of languages, including Turkish, English and Russian. The PGA-certified instructors give you the opportunity to hone your skills by offering a range of coaching services, including private lessons.

World Class Accommodation

Antalya GC is linked with two incredible hotels. The first is the Sirene, which is the more child-friendly of the two accommodation options. The Sirene has a number of choices when it comes to rooms, boutique suites and villas.

Its luxurious rooms offer you a comfortable and stylish holiday experience. Each room has its own private balcony, modern bathroom and air conditioning. With sea views or views of the two championship golf courses, it is a unique blend. The hotel also has the option of boutique suites and villas, with the latter on offer for larger families who want to stay in the same place.

The second option is the Kempinski Hotel, The Dome. It sits directly on the beach of the Mediterranean and stands out as an architecturally unique boutique hotel. Built in Seljuk style, it is comprised of elegant rooms and suites with sea or garden views, plus impressive villas amidst the two golf courses.
