Gainsborough Golf Club

Situated in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside, Gainsborough Golf Club boasts a pair of 18-hole courses, along with excellent clubhouse amenities and a newly-built hotel, which makes it an ideal venue for a fantastic golfing break. Located just a short drive away is the European headquarters of PING, with the PING European Fitting Centre based conveniently at the golf club.

Golf

Established in 1894, Thonock Park is a wonderful example of a traditional, parkland golf course. Tree-lined fairways, refurbished bunkers, superb putting greens and attractive views make this golf course a pleasure for all golfing abilities to play. Measuring just 6,223 yards from the back tees and 5,483 from the front, you do not need to be a long hitter to enjoy a round. However, accuracy is important and will help to compile a good score.

Designed by Neil Coles, Karsten Lakes opened in 1997. Contrasting in design, this courses measures 6,900 from the back tees and offers a challenge to all abilities of golfer. Taking full advantage of the superb views, Coles shaped the fairways majestically around five beautiful lakes and introduced large, character-defining bunkers, which cover no less than 17,500 square metres. As you would expect with a name referencing expanses of water, it comes into play on multiple holes, including two of the more challenging tests on the course. The 410-yard, par-four sixth hole features a daunting second shot across a lake, while water also stands between the tee and the green at the par-three 17^th hole.
