Worsley Park Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts

An EGD Layout

European Golf Design were behind the championship course at Worsley Park, with Michael King and Ross McMurray – the latter having also designed courses at Celtic Manor, Costa Navarino, Dalmahoy and St Pierre Country Club – the men to lay out the course. It is an attractive one, with wide fairways and large greens, and measures 6,600 yards from the tips.

The Par 71 course has five par 3s and four par 5s, with the first two of those coming back-to-back at the 5th and 6th. 5 is a dog-leg right around the trees, while the 6th is a dog-leg left at the furthest point of the course away from the clubhouse. They follow the 4th, which is the longest par 3 on the property at more than 220 yards from the tips. The 7th is the signature hole on the course. A short par 3 played over a pond and a stream to a shallow green. There are no bunkers, but plenty of trouble lies in wait.

8 also plays over water on the second shot, while the 12th could be drivable for the longer hitters at just 310 yards. Two fairway bunkers and two greenside bunkers are there for those wayward tee shots, though. The 13th is the longest hole on the course and is followed by a short par 3. 17 is also drivable at less than 300 yards, before the short par 5 18th offers one final birdie chance. Just miss the plethora of sand traps by the green and you have a chance of circling your final score.
