Helsby Golf Club

Helsby Golf Club is situated in leafy Cheshire 7 miles from Chester and only 24 miles from this year\'s Open.Founded in 1901, its 18-hole par-70 parklands course over 6,265 yards was designed by James Braid.Today\'s course and clubhouse feature superb facilities in beautiful surroundings enjoyed by members and visitors alike.We look forward to seeing you at the club. The original course, designed by James Braid, was only 9 holes long and is today\'s front 9. The original clubhouse was on the opposite side of Towers Lane to today\'s clubhouse, located close to the 5th tee.When the old clubhouse burnt down in 1970, one of the only things left after the fire was the frame of the old piano. This was buried next to the 2nd green - hence the hump now referred to as \"the piano\"".The extra 9 holes were added in the late 60s & early 70s to make a challenging but enjoyable par 70 course over 6
