Laleham Golf Club
The 18 hole course stands on 100 acres of meadowland on the opposite side of the River Thames to Laleham Village. At over 6200 yards the par 70 course provides a fair but testing challenge to golfers of all standards. The flat terrain ensures that a round - or even two - can be enjoyed with reasonable ease. The course is kept in excellent condition and, owing to the natural drainage on the underlying gravel, the surface remains dry when neighbouring courses are forced to close by adverse weather. This natural drainage was enhanced in earlier times by a system of ditches dug in the 7th century by monks of the nearby Chertsey Abbey. This and even earlier remnants of a Roman occupation of the site can be seen in various parts of the course.
