Mid Yorkshire Golf Club

Established in 1993, Mid Yorkshire may still be relatively youthful, but this challenging course near Pontefract is already a stunning parkland gem. The layout weaves around existing mature woodland and at just over 6,300 yards, provides an excellent and enjoyable test of golf whether you are an experienced golfer or a relative newcomer to the sport. The course was originally designed by Steve Marnoch, who deployed features such as snaking streams, long rough and dog legged holes to create a challenging track. Recent redevelopments of the course have been guided by the world renowned course architect Simon Gidman, which alongside hard work from the green keeping team, has vastly improved the standard of the course.

The back nine is a serene setting for golf with some pretty holes, including the par-4 15th & par-4 17th. Geographically, Mid Yorkshire is one of the easiest to access clubs in the country. Situated in the heart of the motorway network it allows easy access from the North, South, East and West. Just yards from the A1 but not affected by any noise from the busy motorway, Leeds and Doncaster are a 20-minute drive away, York and Wakefield are 30 minutes and Hull, Huddersfield and Sheffield are all less than an hour from the club. As well as 18 holes of championship standard golf, Mid Yorkshire offers a 23-bay floodlit driving range, pro shop with custom-fitting facilities and a venue for functions such as weddings, proms and birthdays.
