Patshull Park Golf & Country Club
Patshull Park has for a long time been a popular choice for golfers in the Midlands – and when you sample the course it is easy to see why.
A tricky and challenging round for any golfer is a guarantee on a course which was opened in 1979 and is set alongside 82 acres of beautiful fishing lakes.
The par-72 course is made especially challenging by the Wellington, Oak and Beech trees which line almost every hole and punish errant drives.
At 6,375 yards this may not be the longest course in the area, but the test here is not in how far you can hit the ball but how accurate you can be.
Patshull begins with a long par 4 measuring 439 yards but after that the majority of the pars 4s tend to be under 400 yards with the longest par 5 being 503 yards.
Perhaps the pick of the holes is the par-4 5th. A dog leg 374-yard par 4, you have to be straight off the tee; too far right is out of bounds, and to the left are a huge number of unforgiving trees.
