A Brief History of Pennard Golf Club
Thomas Penrice was the man who owned the land in the beginning, and he allowed a small number of golfers to play on the land he owned. The club was reconstituted in 1908, following the death of Penrice, with Pennard Golf Club being officially founded.
Pennard brought in Tom Doak and Clyde Johnson midway through the 2010s, with the aim of adding some artificially revetted bunkers to add another level of character to the course.

Our Panellists Notes for 2024
Sean Arble: Pennard is short on yardage, but long on character. The same cranky, undulating land which creates sporty bounces is also responsible for Pennard’s greatest asset, shot making options. These options combined with continuously changing weather mean the course will never become too familiar. Is this variety not the very definition of great golf?
Chris Myatt: A must play. Modern rustic golf. A very linksy feel albeit way above the bay, hence the links in the sky tag, means the sea views are fantastic.
Greg Webber: The "Links in the Sky" has a wonderful and varied set of holes, some of which are dramatic. Add in the magnificent views towards and across the bay and this course is an all-round thrill to play.
David Walker: Stunning scenery and many good holes, the course is undoubtedly fun.
