Poulton-le-Fylde Golf Club, a friendly 9 hole course, open to members and visitors throughout the year ,is now under new management.Club Profesional, John Greenwood and member Glenn Whittaker took over the lease in September 2005. Their immediate aim is to invest money in improving the on course facilities. Already a tremendous amount of work has been undertaken to improve drainage, cut back trees and give the course greater definition by skilled cutting and shaping of the fairways and rough.This is the start of a £50,000 programme which is expected to last for 2 to 3 years.The course is generally low lying and grassy, a pleasant walk across meadowland turf, with some serious traps and streams for the wayward shot! Its a good test of golf to all levels of experience.Work has also started to improve the club house facilities, including bar and cafe, snooker and darts, indoor driving range, practice area, putting green, and fully equipped golf shop , with a new verandah, freshly painted interior and an entertainment programme already underway
