The golf course
Golf Provence's course was designed by Jean Garaialde in 1989. It was constructed on the slopes of the Vaucluse mountains incorporating the natural landscape of rocky outcrops, boulders and crags. The Carpentras canal waters the lush green fairways and provides an additional interesting hazard. The vegetation is typical provencal, pine and olive trees with an underplanting of oleander, lavender and rosemary bushes. The view of the Luberon and Alpilles hills in the distance and the lakes and fountains in the foreground is spectacular. The course is 6,700 yards from the white tees with 38 strategically-placed bunkers. It is widely regarded as 'fair but challenging' and always memorable.
