Silvermere Golf Club
Situated just five minutes from the M25 and A3, Silvermere is one of the most easily accessible courses in Surrey.
It also offers some of the best value golf in the region. A midweek round with refreshments will set you back just £30, while evening rounds cost only £10.
Do not be fooled by the prices. Opened for play in 1976, the Neil Coles and Brian Hugget design has hosted qualifying for the European Tour and provides some of the finest holes in the south-east of England.
The 6,404-yard, par-71 layout is renowned for its mature, tree-lined setting and many water hazards. While the first six holes are sure to get your pulse racing, it is the closing three holes that live longest in the memory.
The par-four 16th is known as the most underrated hole on the course and requires a good, straight drive to avoid the water hazard on the left of the fairway. You should be happy with a four here.

While the putting surface is quite large, it still takes a composed tee shot to clear the water, while you might have trouble reading your putt on the undulating green. Despite these spectacular tests, the signature hole is the par-four 18th. Finding the fairway is a must if you are to avoid an almost impossible second shot to the island green. If you manage to finish with three pars, then you deserve to treat yourself to a freshly-cooked meal and drink at the Bistro, where a large selection of ales and wines are available. Away from the course, the club offers a well-stocked pro shop, floodlit driving range and custom fitting facilities.
