Thornhill Golf Club
From humble beginnings in April 1893 Thornhill Golf Club was born. In 1979 the course was extended to 18 holes and in 1996 the Clubhouse was enlarged. The course is a mixture of parkland and heathland, with magnificent panoramic views - equal to any in Scotland. It has often been described as a "hidden jewel". At 6,085 yards, that is easy on the high handicapper with a par of 71 and a SSS of 70, the course offers a real challenge to the scratch golfer. More than that, it's worth walking for the scenery alone. The Clubhouse was built in 1913 and the 700 members pride themselves on maintaining the club's homely and friendly atmosphere. The fully licensed Clubhouse, which seats 80, offers snacks as well as excellent quality meals throughout the day.
