Torwoodlee Golf Club

Torwoodlee is a private members club to which visitors from around the world receive a warm welcome. Situated just outside Galashiels in the beautiful Scottish Borders countryside, the venue sits in an enviable location. It is easily accessible from Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland, and from Newcastle and Carlisle in England. The club's location could not be more perfect for golfers travelling from England to Scotland. It makes for an excellent place to stop either on the way in or the way out, and with classic East Lothian locations no more than an hour away it can also make for an ideal place to base your golf break. The course at Torwoodlee is a picturesque 18 hole 6021 yard par-69 parkland steeped in over 100 years of history. Flanked by the River Gala and set amongst a mix of mature woodland and rolling parkland, it is one of the most challenging courses in the Scottish Borders. Torwoodlee utilises the natural contours of the land exquisitely and boasts some stunning views over the surrounding landscape.

Although not the longest course, there are only two par-5s which ensures a tight and demanding test. Straight hitting and accurate approach play are absolute prerequisites for scoring well here. However, the course is not so demanding that it isn't accessible for higher handicap players, and this is one of the best aspects of the venue. It's playability for all levels of player ensures a pleasing round of golf for everyone.
