Turriff Golf Club

Established more than 100 years ago, Turriff Golf Club is an inland layout in one of Scotland’s top golfing counties. The club boasts a well-stocked pro shop and teaching bay, while a variety of lesson packages are available with the club’s PGA pro James Calam. Despite these attractions, the jewel in the crown at Turriff is the par-70, 6,118-yard championship course. Featuring tight, tree-lined fairways, well-placed greens and plenty of water hazards, the course is sure to test even the most experienced golfer. The layout eases you into your round with an attractive 330-yard par-four, although things can get tricky if you find either of the greenside bunkers with your second shot. While the short par-three fourth is protected by bunkers and an out of bounds, the seventh is generally regarded as the toughest hole on the course. Boasting a stroke index of one, the 446-yard par-four features a bunkered fairway and trees at the back of the putting surface. The 12th is the feature hole on the back nine. Known as “Railway”, the 564-yard par-five has a stroke index of two and makes for a perfect long drive challenge. Watch out for the trees that run all the way up the right hand side to the green. The clubhouse is situated in the very middle of the course and offers panoramic views of the nearby Deveron valley and Forglen estate. A round at Turriff can be had for just £25, while juniors can play for as little as £12.50. [course view="list" id=27080][course view="list" id=27088][course view="list" id=26239]
