Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club
Established in 1909, the course is in the "White Cliffs Country" high on the cliffs between Dover and Deal. With an abundance of flora and fauna as well as magnificent views, you will find much to enjoy about our golf course. We have a proud heritage that began almost a hundred years ago. Originally formed to encourage families and ladies to play golf, it has undergone many changes in its time. These include its use by all three war services during the Second World War. After the war the club was re-opened as a Members Club with a match played on the 11th June 1949 between Henry Cotton, Max Faulkner, Mr Charles Stowe and Mr Kenneth Frazier to celebrate the occasion. The course is a popular destination for visitors and societies, many of whom return year after year. It is played on the east and west side of a ridge on top of the down overlooking Kingsdown. Measuring 6444 yards off the white tees, the course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Walmer and Kingsdown is a downland course that offers year-round golf, with temporary greens a rare sight.
