A REAL thinking man’s course, Wilmslow is home to plenty of well-placed bunkers and shaped fairways that can be hard to find. The short holes here are outstanding, with the 9th, in front of the clubhouse, perhaps the pick. The four par 5s do resent the opportunity of a birdie or two and the 18th offers a fitting end, with bunkers on the right and a small stream on the left awaiting anything slightly wayward. Be sure to bring your best long game and a tidy putting stroke.
