It is the biggest and most popular city in the Republic of Ireland, and Dublin has plenty to offer all of its visitors when it comes to its golfing landscape as well, with links layouts along the coastline, and plenty of parkland layouts inland as well.
As the largest city in the country Dublin obviously provides plenty of options when it comes to accommodation. However, there are also a number of beautiful stay-and-play resorts that might take your fancy. The most well-known of those will be the venue of the 2006 Ryder Cup, the K Club. The Palmer North Course - which hosted the biennial competition - is one of two 18-hole layouts at the Straffan-based venue. Throw in a glamorous hotel and it is a great base for a trip to Ireland.
There are two other resorts close to the Irish capital. Carton House sits to the west of the city, and is another that has two 18-hole layouts. The Montgomerie Course, named after designer Colin Montgomerie, is the star attraction at the resort. Finally, there is the Portmarnock Hotel Resort to the north of Dublin. The newly-renovated Jameson Links is the resort's 18-hole offering, and one that is highly-regarded despite being one of the newest courses in the United Kingdom.
There are plenty of other standout courses in and around Dublin, including Portmarnock - which is not to be confused with the Portmarnock Hotel. Royal Dublin occupies a thin slab of land on North Bull Island, meaning the course is surrounded by water on all sides, while The European and The Island offer inland golf on a grand scale.

We updated our Dublin list when we created our NCG Top 100s list of the best golf courses in Ireland. If one course in Dublin is above another in our Ireland list, then it will also be above it in our Dublin list.
