Darlington Golf Club
Darlington Golf Club is a par 70, 18-hole wooded parkland course situated on the outskirts of Darlington, just off the A66.The club was founded in 1908 and designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie - the man responsible for creating Augusta National, home of the US Masters. With huge rolling greens, lush, tree-lined fairways and unforgiving semi-rough - all characteristics of a MacKenzie course - there is no need to alter this challenging but enjoyable track. A five year bunker programme - adding, removing, and replacing bunkers and a new tee at the 6th making it 550 yards long - are the only slight changes to the course in recent years. The club welcomes visitors and offers a range of reasonable priced golfing packages including coffee, light lunch and an evening meal. After a round, players are encouraged to relax in the clubhouse and enjoy the hospitality.
