Walsall Golf Club
Situated a short distance from the Midlands Motorway link, this resort is the perfect base for any business or recreational West Midlands retreat.
The club was originally founded in 1907 and still boasts many of the features that characterised Dr. Mackenzie's original course design.
However, a steady program of tree-planting over the past 50 or so years has seen the course blossom into a more challenging and beautiful layout that will prove testing to any golfer, no matter what their experience.
The easy-walking championship course boasts tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy off the tee, while even a good drive does not guarantee an easy approach shot.
Each and every green on the 6,250-yard par-70 layout is guarded by bunkersEach and every green on the 6,250-yard par-70 layout is guarded by bunkers, ensuring that a good score will be founded mainly on solid iron play. The beautiful parkland provides stunning views in abundance and a number of top holes, but the jewel in the crown is undoubtedly the 18th hole. The 536-yard par-five features a slight dogleg fairway that can land you in difficulty on your approach shot, as you attempt to make your way to a green flanked by a small stream and an army of bunkers. Aside from the golf the venue boasts a fantastic clubhouse famous for its first-class catering, while an extensive wine list makes for an unparalleled sense of post-round relaxation.
