Windlesham Golf Club

Windlesham is a challenging 18 hole championship course which was designed by Tommy Horton, the former Ryder Cup star and leading Seniors PGA Tour player. Constructed by Southern Golf, world renowned contractors and builders of Wisley, The Oxfordshire and other first class courses, Windlesham is set amidst the beautiful Surrey countryside and was officially opened in August 1994. With a par of 72 and measuring 6,650 yards from the competition tees, it is neither a long slog nor too short to challenge the best players. Featuring gentle slopes and streams, every aspect of this magnificent course is designed to excite the eye and the mind. The greens and tees are always in immaculate condition, and the fairways are shaped and cut to provide a fair test of golf for all levels.

I believe I have designed a course that will be acclaimed as one of the best golf courses in the country.” The character and quality of the course is summed up by the first hole. The long 445-yard par-4 provides a tough start, and a good drive must flirt with the bunker on the left hand side of the fairway to open up a good angle into the green. From there, the approach is tricky as it plays longer than it looks and has water guarding the front of the green. Escape with a par here and you should be very pleased. In addition to the outstanding clubhouse, there is a fully stocked pro shop and an outstanding restaurant and bar area.
