Resort Lists

Over the coming months, we will have two separate lists on golfing resorts coming your way. We will have a European list, and then a Great Britain & Ireland list.

It's not just the golf that gets these venues into our Top 100 Resorts lists. These places all have incredible accommodation and amenities for you to use during your stay, including spas and restaurants.

We will bring you our list of the Top 100 Great Britain & Ireland Golfing Resorts in May, to provide you with plenty of choice for your next golfing trip on British shores.

UK Country Lists

Periodically, the NCG Top 100s will bring you lists from each of the countries on the Great Britain & Ireland list.

You will find that all of the courses from our Great Britain & Ireland list make it into their respective country lists.

Top 100 Courses in England - February
From links courses to inland heathland venues, the English golf scene has a little bit of everything.

Our English Top 100 list will include Open Championship venues, like Royal Liverpool and Royal St George's, along with the heathland delights of Sunningdale and Walton Heath.

Top 100 Courses in Scotland - April
It's the country that gave us the game of golf. Of course we are going to bring you a list of our Top 100 Courses in Scotland.

The Scottish list will range from the historic Prestwick, Muirfield and the Old Course at St Andrews, to the newest venues such as The Renaissance Club and Cabot Highlands.

Top 100 Courses in Wales - June
Like England and Scotland, there is plenty of range when it comes to golf courses in Wales.

From Royal Porthcawl in the south, to Royal St David's and Aberdovey on the west coast, there is something for everyone in Welsh golf.

Top 100 Courses in Ireland - July
Our final nationwide list of 2024 will feature a combination of courses across the isle of Ireland, with venues in both the Republic and Northern Ireland making the grade.

Open Championship host Royal Portrush will be one of the leading courses on the Irish list, with the likes of Royal County Down, Waterville and Enniscrone all being absolutely stunning venues.

County Lists

Over the course of 2024, NCG will also provide lists of the best golf courses in the biggest golfing counties across Great Britain & Ireland.

Below is a select few of our best lists that will be coming soon to the NCG Top 100s website.

Lancashire - March
There are some absolute gems in the North West of England, including a few Open Championship venues.

Formby West Lancs and Hillside join the likes of Royal Birkdale and Royal Lytham & St Anne's in being part of Lancashire's best golfing venues.

Cornwall - April
From the North West to the South West of England, Cornwall has some incredible tracks.

St Enodoc is the epitome of Cornish golf, an epic links course played right by the coastline.

Norfolk - May
The eastern coastline of England can not be forgotten when it comes to high-quality links golf

Royal West Norfolk and Hunstanton are not just two of the best in the county, but two of the best golfing venues in England.

Yorkshire - June
Yorkshire is one of the biggest counties in England, and it sits high on the list of golfing locations around the country.

The likes of Alwoodley and Ganton are absolute must-play courses, among many others in the region.

Fife - July
The Scottish county of Fife is the home of St Andrews, the 'Home of Golf'.

Along with all of the amazing courses at St Andrews, Fife also plays host to the likes of Kingsbarns and Elie.

East Lothian - August
Arguably the greatest links golfing paradise in the world, the county of East Lothian plays host to plenty of amazing venues.

Gullane, North Berwick and Dunbar are all within just a few miles of Muirfield, host of the Open Championship.

Ayrshire - September
On the opposite coast, Ayrshire also plays host to some stunning courses, including a number of Open Championship venues.

Prestwick, Royal Troon and Trump Turnberry have all played host to the sport's oldest tournament. Just up the road, there's also the likes of Dundonald Links and Western Gailes.
