Sundridge Park Golf Club, Kent

Sundridge Park just might be the most impressive golf club in the south east that you have never heard of. Tucked away among quiet residential roads, this course is a hidden jewel in the suburbs of Bromley. Close enough to be accessed from central London (seven miles away as the crow flies) and the M25 yet located in tranquil surroundings, it might well be the world's closest 36-hole club to a major metropolitan centre. Sundridge was founded in 1901 and boast two championship-quality courses which are maintained in first-class condition. The East is an Open pre-qualifying course and is fair, but challenging. Newcomers are often inspired by the quality with its true, consistent greens, allowing first timers the opportunity to shoot low scores. A short walk down the hill from the clubhouse takes you to the 1st tee of this par-71 track which was used as a venue for Open qualifying from 1992 to 1997. The course is also the stage for the first 36 holes of the Waterford Trophy, a 72-hole scratch medal open to any amateur with a handicap of four or better. This tournament attracts the top amateur players in the country.
