The western coastline of Scotland, and in particular, Ayrshire, is well known as a golfing paradise. With an 80-mile coastline, the majority of which is incumbent with golf courses, there is plenty of links golf on offer in the county.
There are several places where golfers can stay during a trip to Ayrshire, with the likes of Trump Turnberry and Dundonald Links offering gorgeous accommodation along with world-class golf. Turnberry has the Ailsa Course and the King Robert the Bruce Course, with the former being one of several Open Championship hosts in the region.
The Old Course at Royal Troon - host in 2024 - and Prestwick - host of the very first Open back in 1860 - are also part of Ayrshire's golfing landscape. Dundonald Links has been a host of the Scottish Open for the last few years as well, while there are plenty of other stunning venues.
