In terms of area, Yorkshire is the largest county in England by some distance. Split into its four parts - North, South, East and West - there are some 5,000 square miles of Yorkshire, meaning that golf clubs are spread far and wide.
Leeds is arguably the best base for a golf trip to Yorkshire, with a number of courses all in close order to West Yorkshire's biggest city. The trio of Alwoodley, Moortown and Sand Moor are within a mile of each other to the north of the city, while Headingley is just a couple of miles to the west.
Alwoodley has the honour of being the first golf course to ever be designed by the great Dr Alister MacKenzie - who would of course go on to be the man behind Augusta National. The man also designed Moortown, and had a hand in the layout at Headingley - the oldest golf course in Leeds.
Away from Leeds, there are more stunning golf courses in the county of Yorkshire. Along with Moortown, both Ganton and Lindrick have played host to the Ryder Cup in their long and storied histories, while Fulford was an annual stop for the European Tour for more than 20 years.
How we compiled our Yorkshire list
We updated our Yorkshire list when we created our NCG Top 100s list of the best golf courses in England. If one course in the county is above another in our England list, then it will also be above it in our Yorkshire list.
