From the border with England, all the way across to the edge of Anglesey, the northern section of Wales is a great place to visit for a golf trip. There is a cracking array of links layouts and parkland courses - with the majority also coming at a fraction of the price of some other courses in the country.
For a trip to this region, you could base yourself in a number of spots, including Rhyl, Llandudno, Wrexham and Colwyn Bay, along with the isle of Anglesey as well. Although there are no stay-and-play resorts in North Wales, the courses in our list are close enough together so you won't have to travel far from your overnight halts to play some amazing golf.
Take the stunning trio of Conwy, North Wales and Llandudno Maesdu. The three courses are split by just a few miles, with the latter pair almost sitting next door to each other. Move further down the coastline, and you will come to Abergele and Prestatyn.
If you keep travelling west, you will eventually come to the edge of the mainland. Take the bridge over to the isle of Anglesey, and you will find another trio of cracking golf courses. Anglesey GC is the only true links on the island, while there is also the James Braid-designed Holyhead and then Bull Bay, the northernmost golf course in the country, and on designed by Herbert Fowler in the 1910s.
How we compiled our North Wales list
We updated our North Wales list when we created our NCG Top 100s list of the best golf courses in Wales. If one course from the north of Wales is above another in our Wales list, then it will also be above it in our North Wales list.
