The region of Angus sits between Perthshire and Aberdeenshire on the east coast of Scotland. As with the majority of Scotland, there are plenty of tremendous links layouts in the region, dotted along the coastline. However, there are also some cracking inland courses as well.
There are plenty of spots to stay if you're taking a trip to the region. The city of Dundee is at the southern end of Angus, and is the largest city in the area. It also provides a great spot for most of the golf courses on our Angus list.
Carnoustie - home to the Open Championship on multiple occasions, is one of two venues to have multiple courses featured. The Championship Course is the Open host, while the Burnside Course is a great second layout. Monifieth - with its Medal Course and Ashludie Course, also has two layouts on its property.
The likes of Panmure, Downfield, Arbroath and Montrose's 1562 Course add to the links layouts in the region. Move inland, and there is Forfar, home to a course designed by Old Tom Morris and worked on by the great James Braid.
How we compiled our Angus list
We updated our Angus list when we created our NCG Top 100s list of the best golf courses in Scotland. If one course from the region is above another in our Scotland list, then it will also be above it in our Angus list.
