It is the biggest city in the country, and one of the biggest cities in the world, but London is not really spoken about when it comes to its golfing prowess. Our list includes courses inside the M25 - London's Circular Ring Road - and there is plenty to choose from.

As you would expect, there are plenty of great spots that you can stay in London. The majority of layouts on our London list are on the western side of the city, which is perfect for those travelling into London Heathrow.

If you're looking for a stay and play option, then The Grove is the place for you. Not only is it on our NCG Top 100s: England list, but it also features highly on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I Resorts list as well.

When it comes to golfing history, there are not many venues in England that have more than Walton Heath. Famous for both its Old Course and New Course, the venue has played host to the Ryder Cup, Senior Open Championship and the AIG Women's Open throughout its long and storied history.

Royal Wimbledon, Coombe Hill and the JH Taylor Course at Royal Mid-Surrey are the three venues on our London list that are the closest to the capital, all of which are within just a few miles from the city centre.

How we compiled our London list
We updated our London list when we created our NCG Top 100s list of the best golf courses in England. If one course in the city is above another in our England list, then it will also be above it in our London list.
