The QC Grand Hotel Villa Arzaga Garda offers incredible accommodation, all of which is authentically Italian, while the QC Spa Villa Arzaga Garda is the perfect place to relax and unwind during a stay.

When it comes to golf, two of the greats of the game – both during their playing days and in their course design eras – had their hand in the layouts at Arzaga. The resort has 27 holes of golf – 18 designed by Jack Nicklaus and nine designed by Gary Player. Both courses are beautifully set out, with scoring chances available, but also with holes that can easily bite back, thanks to water hazards and plenty of sand, along with the tree-lined fairways. The venue also has the Arzaga Golf Academy, which is home to a stunning driving range, short game area and large putting green.

The QC Grand Hotel Villa Arzaga Garda offers up sublime accommodation at the resort, with every room and suite decorated in a true Italian way, with exposed roof beams, rustic paintings and of course, views of the idyllic Italian countryside. Classic and Comfort Rooms are the standard options at the hotel, which also has Superior Rooms, the Arzaga Room and the Affresco Suite, the latter being the most luxurious option at the venue.

Also on the resort sits the QC Spa Villa Arzaga Garda, the perfect place for guests to relax and unwind during their stay in northern Italy. QC Termegarda Spa & Golf Resort Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Resorts

Arzaga Golf – 27 Holes Designed by Legends

Arzaga Golf is the golf course that is part of the QC Termegarda Spa & Golf Resort, and it has just about everything a golfer could wish for on the property. When you have the names of Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus as the men to have designed courses at your venue, then you can be pretty proud about it! The two courses bear the names of their designers, with Arzaga being home to the Nicklaus Course (18 holes) and the Player Course (9 holes).

Nicklaus Course

The 18-hole layout at Arzaga Golf comes courtesy of Jack Nicklaus – 18 holes of beautiful golf from an 18-time major champion. As with many of Nicklaus’ designs, strategy is key to a good score, and at Arzaga, that is definitely true. There are plenty of bunkers to catch you out, along with the odd water hazard in your way as well. However, no matter how the golf goes, you can enjoy the wondrous views of the Italian countryside from a number of elevated tee boxes.

The first of those comes at the par 3 2nd. It is only 170 yards, but plays severely downhill thanks to the elevated teeing area, so you need to take the drop into account when selecting your club. Another comes at 5, so your drive will travel further down this 400-yard par 4. Once again, bunkers sit down the right side to keep you on your toes. The 6th offers the first glimpse of water, which sits to the left of the putting surface. The 7th is a short par 3, just 150 yards, but the landscape of the hole means that the approach is played entirely over water to the green. Right is the miss, with the water also down the left side.

The back nine begins with water as far as the eye can see off the 10th tee, but we promise that there is dry land down there! 11 is a great scoring opportunity. It is a 520-yard par 5, but one that is strongly downhill and gives a lot of run on the tee shot in the summer months. 12 is a short par 4, but any shots you’ve gained may well be lost at 13 – a 225-yard par 3 off the yellows. Water sits on the left of both 14 and 15, and then 16 is the Stroke Index 1 on the Nicklaus Course at Arzaga. Arguably, the greatest view on the property comes at the 18th tee. An elevated tee box, looking down to the fairway, with water, sand and the beautiful clubhouse building in the distance. Play it well, and that well-earned drink will feel even better when you’re finished!

Player Course

South Africa’s best ever golfer is also a dab hand at golf course design, with the likes of DLF Golf & Country Club, Blair Atholl, Thracian Cliffs, Chateau de Taulane, and of course, the Gary Player Country Club is his home nation of South Africa. The nine holes that he designed at Arzaga are just another addition to his fantastic repertoire, with greens surrounded by crater-like sand traps, and holes that wind their way through their natural surroundings – in this case, over the Italian hills and through tree-lined fairways.

It starts with a fantastic par 4 which sees you tee off from an elevated tee box that sits in cedar woodlands. Water first comes into play on the 2nd hole, with anything slightly right off the tee being in danger of getting wet. The 4th is more than 610 yards from the tips, and still 590 yards from the yellows! Unsurprisingly, it is the longest hole on the course, and it is also the SI1 on the Player Course. Water then comes into play on 5 and 6, with the latter being a beautiful par 3. The green has a large lake that winds round the right side of it, with the hazard also in front and behind the putting surface, making club selection vital. The Player Course closes with another spectacular par 3, rising uphill back towards the clubhouse.
