Rotherham Golf Club

Situated three miles east of the town centre, Rotherham boasts an easy-walking parkland layout as well as a variety of off-course facilities.   The club features a Gothic clubhouse which dates all the way back to 1814, while the course itself was built into the surrounding parkland in 1903. Measuring 6,327 yards, the par-70 James Braid design features a number of woodland holes as well as several of the architect's trademark hazards.   While most of the top holes come on the back nine, special mention must go to the 192-yard 9th. Featuring a green protected by three bunkers to the right and tall rough on the left, the par-three will punish any wayward play.   The same goes for the par-four 15th. While not the longest at 384 yards, you must navigate a dogleg and a fairway bunker to leave yourself with a decent chance of reaching the well-guarded green. Away from the course, the club boasts three function rooms, all of which can cater for parties and civil ceremonies for up to 75 people. A range of corporate packages are available to help groups make the most of the facilities.   The club also offers a number of catering options, ranging from afternoon tea to full wedding menus, while visitors are welcomed for twilight golf. A weekday round after 4pm will set you back £25, while 18 weekend holes can be had for just £30.   The club is easily accessible from either the A1 or the M1 and also lies close to Robin Hood Airport.
