Trump International, Scotland Overview | NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Resorts
The Greatest 36 Holes in Golf?
That’s the strapline that Trump International, Scotland has been boasting about with the introduction of the New Course to the venue in 2025 – joining the Old Course at the venue.
The Old Course
Designed by Martin Hawtree, perhaps the greatest golf course architect of his generation, the Old Course is well known for its massive sand dunes, glorious green complexes and for giving the feeling of being the only group out on the course.
The Old Course is set out in two out-and-back loops of nine, allowing the beautiful stone clubhouse to also pose as the halfway house. A great set of par 3s, including the glorious 3rd hole, are just part of the course’s charm – while the par 5s offer some good scoring opportunities throughout the round.
The 18th is the signature hole on the Old Course at Trump International, Scotland. Standing on any of the six tees (with the back tee pushing to more than 650 yards), there is an amazing view of what lies in front with the clubhouse and the Scottish flag in the distance. Water down the left and a plethora of bunkers are in view on this epic finishing hole.
Throughout its history, the Old Course at Trump International, Scotland has played host to several big events. It has hosted the European Legends Tour’s flagship event, the Staysure Seniors PGA Championship, and in 2025, it played host to the DP World Tour for the first time, with the Scottish Championship being played there.
The New Course
The New Course, which opened in 2025, is an incredible design, linking together three completely different topographical areas to create a stunning course. There is the links section, which runs through the largest sand dunes in Scotland – and plays much like the Old Course. The New then also features heathland and wetland for a one-of-a-kind modern links layout.
