Had the best autumn experience here last week. The turf is sensational, the views even better, the golf architecturally excellent. The 14th a jaffer of a short 4 that epitomises the fantastic use of the land

  • Rated 4.0 out of 5Sand Moor

Such a visually pleasing place to play, elevation change and clean, clear presentation make it very easy on the eye. Incredible selection of par threes, and teasing short 4s, incredibly well conditioned on the day we played in September

  • Rated 5.0 out of 5Moortown

Played here regularly for 30 years and it has never been better. The Clyde Johnson restoration is incredible. The snooker room and locker room are old school cool and the management deserve a lot of plaudits for getting a lot of long term decisions spot on

The most underrated golf course I can think of. So many great holes on an amazing bit of land, with incredible green sites in a beautifully remote corner of the country. I loved it.

  • Rated 4.0 out of 5Perranporth

Perran gets to you. It is reveal after reveal, view after view, blind shot after blind shot and one amazing, crazy green site after another. Some shake their head at the very mention. We played in the firmest possible conditions and a stiff breeze and somewhere around the 5th stopped fighting it and started smiling, what followed was 3 hours of uninterrupted joy as we bounced off slopes, saw new angles, tried every shot imaginable. It was great, bring an open mind, a camera and your inner shot maker and you will love it

  • Rated 5.0 out of 5Trevose

On a summer evening the terrace at Trevose feels like a huge party for golfers and guests of the club that return with families year after year. The golf course spills out below you like Seminole or Muirfield, every hole in view and the Atlantic beyond. M&E have elevated the bunkering and green surrounds and sites, it is a golfers golf course that never dips in quality, and quiet respite from the rock and roll at Perran, West Cornwall and St Es. Sneaky good half way house to boot.

  • Rated 5.0 out of 5St Enodoc (Church)

A golf course in several acts an opening of considerable quirk and head scratching, a middle section revealing the estuary and the romance and views from the land wrapping around Betjemens Chruch, before the show stopping holes alongside the Camel Estuary. It is a place to fall in love with and it is impossible not to. Intoxicating, dreamy golf.

  • Rated 4.5 out of 5Southport & Ainsdale

Played this during Open week and was a sensational experience. Grass coverage on the greens was exceptional given the dry weather and the greens were extremely fast and smooth. The bunkering, elevation change and green sites, make this perhaps the most authentic links experience on this coast

  • Rated 5.0 out of 5Alwoodley

The work that is being done by Clyde, Craig and the team at Alwoodley and the R&A to restore the heath is absolutely top draw. I ** not sure I have ever played a better conditioned golf course that this is currently

  • Rated 5.0 out of 5Dunbar

There is something mystical about an early morning at Dunbar. We visited in summer 2025, played at first light and felt the warmth of the sun break through. The stretch of holes on the seaward side of the world are breathtaking, it is as pure as golf gets.
