Dunbar is understated with so many good holes alongside the coastline.

I'm not sure if there is another Scottish course quite so in touch with the sea. Dunbar is simply a lovely spot to play golf.

Of course, the setting of Dunbar is the stuff of dreams and the great walk will always push the joy to be alive needle a bit higher. However, I must say Dunbar impressed me with it's architecture.

A links with the jeopardy of the shoreline coming into play on several holes. In good condition. Great fun..

Beautifully conditioned Scottish links. Not overly challenging but still needs attention. The quirky 6th hole and 13th with the sunken green were my personal favourites.

Changes to routing of opening and final hole planned. Going beyond the ancient wall to reveal the seaside holes is akin to Alice peering through the looking glass. Dunbar is the most attractive of hidden gems.

Visually spectacular being on the coast but felt very cramped in places. Some excellent risk/reward opportunities.

A traditional links where thought must be given to every shot to navigate effectively. Not as 'pristine' as some.
