Elie has everything a person could wish for in a links. There are long holes, short holes, blind holes, all to see holes, tricky holes, holes of character, easy holes, tough holes, great greens, lovely scenery and an obvious seaside character.

Quirky and very enjoyable. The drivable par 4 10th followed by an exquisite par 3 11th right on the sea were very memorable.

Enchanting, historic links which offer some of Scotland's most dramatic and scenic holes.

After overcoming that first terrifying tee shot next to the clubhouse, starter's hut and periscope, we had a fabulous time, especially at the sea's edge.

Elie has magic. It can conjure things in the soul. The odd weak hole is nothing next to the totality of the experience.

Utterly charming links. Surely the best course in the world without a par 5. Presented in immaculate condition. Stunning views, some amazing holes and an absolute pleasure to play.

A favourite of the R & A, fun, and great golf, it doesn't have to be 7,000+ yards.

Elie features firm, fast-running fairways, immaculate greens and what seems like perfectly positioned bunkering; it also has a fair degree of quirkiness with the iconic blind 1st hole, where you can check if you're free through a submarine periscope right at the top
