A very well rounded and consistently challenging true links, which requires thoughtful play for the entirety of the round.

A course that has everything except sea views which is why it is sometimes dismissed as not being suitable for a better ranking. The holes frequently change direction which is not always the case with a links course. The fairway turf is firm and the greens are true and fast. Overall a great links experience.

Greens were the best I played in Scotland this year fast & true, good bunkering but they lacked detail. Lots of different playing options. Good par 3's

Relatively recently restored to its original pure links design, and it's all the better for that. With the quality of courses in Ayrshire, it is often overlooked, but this should be on your list if visiting the Ayrshire coast.
