I felt as if I was wrapped in the cloak of golf's history. Don't expect the toughest challenge but do anticipate something unique

The cradle of golf, and while it could never be considered a modern classic, as it does have some holes which stand up to the test of time, both the 1st and 8th are par 3's of 230 & 240 yards, but the 4th is a true classic of 447 yards to a severely undulating green.

The novelty of playing inside a racecourse quickly wears off when your ball comes to rest in the longer grass where horses, rather than golfers, should be found. Interesting because of its history but few memorable holes, and not as well maintained as most top courses. Did I want to play the same 9 twice? Sadly no.
