The ever-present drone of the M25 reminds us we are near London, I still find reasons to admire the New. As an ardent fanatic of fine flattish golf and bold features, its difficult for a person of my persuasion not to enjoy the course. By no means an easy test, but the wide fairways of the New are very welcome.

The New course begins in relatively sedate fashion, and it is important to get off to a fast start as the course has teeth after the 4th, with the fifth really showing its teeth. Arguably more fun and definitely more playable than the Old – so, plenty to like.
