A Brief History of West Hill Golf Club
J.B. Walker, a senior executive of the Necropolis Company, allowed the land to be made available for golf, and from there, West Hill began, with the club being founded in 1909. Walker would be a Captain and President of the club in future years.
The club has played host to a number of big events, including the Ladies British Open Amateur Championship in 2005. Sweden's Anna Nordqvist, who has gone on to win the AIG Women's Open and participate in the Solheim Cup on several occasions, was the winner.

Our Panellists Notes for 2025
Dan Murphy: A significant rise that reflects recent course improvement work and a widespread acknowledgment from our panel that it deserved a place in our top 40.
Steve Watton: Classic Surrey heathland. The toughest of the Ws. Always immaculately presented
Greg Webber: Delightful variety of holes with criss-crossing streams that blend in. The club is about to embark on significant bunker redevelopment, which will further improve this splendid course
David Walker: This classic heathland course has some standout holes like the par 4 3rd, par 3 9th and par 4 18th. There is a wonderful balance of strong par 4s, drive-and-pitch holes and reachable par 5s. But beware of the slopes just off the green, especially on the 2nd and the 16th. This is a course where you are rewarded for taking every shot on its own merit
